Flatbeds and Stake Bodies

Flatbed and stake body repair covers deck replacement, headboard and stake pocket repair, structural welding of the deck frame, tie-down installation, and the equipment mounting that flat decks routinely carry.

Overview

Flatbeds and Stake Bodies in a Irvine fleet

Flat decks take direct abuse. Loads are dropped on them, chained down hard, and dragged across them, and the deck surface is a consumable in a way an enclosed body is not.

Stake pockets and tie-down points are the components that fail most often, usually because a load was secured to a point that was never rated for that force. Rebuilding those properly, mounted into the deck frame rather than the deck surface, is a large share of the flatbed work we do.

The hidden problem is corrosion under the decking, where water sits between the boards and the steel frame. It is invisible until the deck comes up, which is why a deck replacement so often turns into frame repair as well.
