Inspections, ADAS Scan and Damage Documentation
ADAS Scan and Recalibration
Symptoms
Signs you need this work
- Driver assistance warning light after a repair
- Lane keeping activating incorrectly
- Collision warning triggering with no obstacle
- Adaptive cruise dropping out or misjudging distance
Why the calibration is invalidated
A forward camera is aimed relative to the vehicle centerline and its mounting position on the glass. Replace the windshield and the camera sits fractionally differently, which at a hundred metres down the road is a significant aiming error.
Radar sensors mounted in bumpers and grilles have the same issue after front-end repair. Even a bumper cover that sits a few millimeters off changes what the sensor sees.
- Pre-repair scan to record existing fault codes
- Static and dynamic recalibration as the system requires
- Post-calibration verification scan
- Documentation of the calibration for the repair record
- Fault code resolution where the system reports errors
