Glass, Doors and Body Hardware
Commercial Windshield Replacement
Symptoms
Signs you need this work
- Crack spreading across the glass
- Chip in the driver's primary viewing area
- Water or wind leak at the glass perimeter
- Delamination visible at the glass edge
Bond quality is structural
A bonded windshield contributes to cab structural integrity. The bond has to be made on a properly prepared and primed pinch weld with the correct urethane, and it has to cure before the vehicle is driven.
Rushing safe drive-away time is the most common shortcut in glass work and it is the one that matters most, because an uncured bond does not hold the glass in an impact.
- Old glass and urethane removal
- Pinch weld inspection, rust treatment and priming
- Correct urethane system for the vehicle and conditions
- Molding and trim replacement
- ADAS camera recalibration where fitted
- Safe drive-away time observed before release
