Inspections, ADAS Scan and Damage Documentation

Pre-Purchase Body and Structural Inspection

A pre-purchase inspection assesses the body and structure of a used commercial vehicle before you buy it: previous repair work, frame integrity, corrosion, water intrusion evidence, and the condition of upfit equipment.

What a seller does not volunteer

Undisclosed previous structural repair, water damage inside a wall, and corrosion under a fresh coat of paint are the three things that turn a good deal into an expensive one, and none of them show on a walkaround.

We inspect for evidence of repair work, sound panels for delamination and water damage, check frame and structure, and assess upfit equipment condition. You get a written report you can negotiate with.

  • Evidence of previous structural or collision repair
  • Frame and structural condition assessment
  • Corrosion inspection including underbody
  • Water intrusion and delamination sounding
  • Panel, paint and glass condition
  • Upfit equipment condition assessment
  • Written report with photographs

$285 to $800

2 to 4 labor hours

Commercial damage varies widely, so this is a range rather than a quote. The number for your vehicle comes from assessing the actual damage.

Collision estimates for insurance claim walk-ins carry no charge. Systems estimates are $150 and diagnostics are $285 per hour, both credited against an authorized repair.

FAQ

Pre-Purchase Body and Structural Inspection questions

Does this include mechanical inspection?
No. This is a body and structural inspection. Engine and drivetrain assessment is outside our scope and should be done separately by a mechanical shop.
How long does it take?
Two to four hours for most commercial vehicles, and you get a written report with photographs.
Can you inspect several units we are considering?
Yes. When buying a batch from one seller it is common to inspect a sample, and we will tell you if what we find suggests inspecting all of them.
