Fleet Graphics, Wraps and Decals
Decal and Wrap Removal
Removal without damage
Vinyl becomes brittle as it ages. A wrap that is past its service life will come off in fragments rather than sheets, and forcing it cold takes clear coat with it. The technique is controlled heat, a shallow pull angle, and patience.
After the vinyl is off there is adhesive residue, which needs the correct solvent rather than an aggressive one. The wrong solvent softens the clear coat underneath.
- Controlled heat application and shallow angle removal
- Adhesive residue removal with finish-safe solvent
- Assessment of the finish underneath after removal
- Correction of ghosting where graphics shielded the paint
Ghosting
Where a decal has protected the paint underneath for years, the surrounding paint has faded and the covered area has not. Removing the graphic reveals a visible outline.
That is correctable by machine polishing in mild cases and needs refinishing in severe ones. We assess it before removal so you know which one you are looking at.
