Box, Cargo Body and Reefer Repair

Box Body Repair

Box body repair covers the walls, roof, and structure of a cargo box: puncture repair, panel sectioning, corner post repair, and re-securing panels that have loosened from the frame. Work restores both the weather seal and the structural integrity of the body.

Symptoms

Signs you need this work

  • Visible puncture or tear in a side or roof panel
  • Water inside the cargo area after rain
  • Panel separating or rattling at a seam
  • Corner post damage after a dock strike

Sectional repair over full replacement

A forklift puncture two feet off the ground does not justify replacing a twenty-four foot side. We cut back to sound material, section in new skin at a supported seam, and seal the joint properly so it does not become the next leak.

Corner posts are the other common failure, since they take the load in a dock strike. A bent post throws the door alignment off, which is usually how the damage gets noticed in the first place.

  • Puncture and tear repair with sectioned skin
  • Corner post straightening and replacement
  • Panel refastening and seam resealing
  • Roof panel repair and rail work
  • Interior liner repair behind the damage

FAQ

Box Body Repair questions

Will the repair be visible from outside?
Finished and refinished properly, no. On a wrapped or heavily graphic body we reproduce the graphics across the repaired section.
Can you repair a roof strike from a low clearance?
Yes, and it should be done promptly. Roof damage lets water directly into the body structure and the damage spreads horizontally from the entry point.
Does the cargo need to be empty?
Yes, for anything involving the walls, floor, or roof. We can schedule around your loading cycle so the unit is not sitting empty in our lot longer than the work needs.
