Van Build-Out and Cargo Interior

Bulkhead and Partition Installation

A bulkhead separates the cargo area from the cab, protecting the driver from shifting load and reducing noise and climate loss. Installation secures the partition to structural mounting points so it performs in an actual impact rather than only looking substantial.

Why it matters

In a hard stop, unsecured cargo travels forward. A bulkhead is what stops it entering the cab. That is the primary function and it is the reason mounting to structure rather than to trim matters.

The secondary benefits are real too: less noise in the cab and a much smaller volume to heat or cool, which the driver notices every day.

  • Solid, windowed and mesh partition options
  • Structural mounting with load-spreading backing
  • Sealed perimeter for noise and climate separation
  • Integration with shelving and flooring

FAQ

Bulkhead and Partition Installation questions

Solid or windowed bulkhead?
Windowed helps with rearward visibility and makes the cab feel less enclosed. Solid gives better noise and thermal separation. It comes down to whether the driver relies on the interior mirror.
Does a bulkhead help with air conditioning?
Noticeably. Cooling the cab alone rather than the whole van is a much smaller job for the system.
Can it be fitted to any van?
Most cargo vans, yes. Fitment is model specific and we source or fabricate accordingly.
