Composite Panel Repair and Replacement

Composite panel work repairs and replaces the bonded laminated panels used on modern dry van bodies and trailers, restoring both skins and the core with the correct adhesive systems for the specific panel construction.

Adhesive systems matter

Composite panels are bonded assemblies. The adhesive is a structural element, and using a general purpose product on a panel engineered for a specific system produces a joint that fails under vibration.

We identify the panel construction before selecting the repair method, which is the difference between a repair that lasts the life of the trailer and one that opens at the edges in two years.

  • Panel construction identification
  • Sectional repair with matched adhesive systems
  • Full panel replacement where damage warrants
  • Edge and seam sealing
  • Interior liner restoration behind the repair

FAQ

Composite Panel Repair and Replacement questions

Can composite panels be repaired or must they be replaced?
Sectional repair works well for localized damage. Damage spanning a large portion of the panel or running through the bond line is usually better replaced.
Will the repair be as strong?
With the correct adhesive system and proper surface preparation, yes. Surface preparation is where most composite repairs are won or lost.
Do you handle interior liners too?
Yes. On a lined body the liner is part of the repair and part of what keeps cargo from damaging the panel again.
