Waste and environmental fleets run the most punishing duty cycle in commercial transport. Bodies cycle constantly, corrosion from load contact is continuous, and structural fatigue at mounting and hinge points is the defining maintenance issue.

Refuse bodies cycle thousands of times a year under load, and that fatigue concentrates at hinge points, cylinder mounts, and the body-to-frame interface. Cracks there are progressive, and they are exactly what a scheduled structural inspection catches.

Corrosion works from the inside on these vehicles because the load is wet, acidic, and in constant contact with the body. Coating the interior surfaces is far cheaper than replacing them.

These are also highly visible vehicles operating on residential streets every week. Appearance is part of the service contract whether or not it is written into it.
