# Utility and Service Trucks Repair

Utility truck work covers service body repair and installation, compartment and door repair, crane and equipment mounting, electrical and lighting systems, and the structural fabrication that service bodies require.

A service truck is a workshop on a chassis, and the things that fail are the things that get used: compartment doors opened dozens of times a day, lighting that runs while the vehicle is stationary, and equipment mounts that carry load every time the crane extends.

Compartment corrosion is the most common structural finding. Water gets into compartments through failed seals, sits in the bottom, and rots the floor out from below where nobody is looking.

Electrical is the other recurring theme, and it is nearly always installation quality: accessories added over the years without proper circuits, which shows up as parasitic drain and fuses that keep going.
