# Trailer Suspension and Running Gear

Trailer suspension work services leaf springs, hangers, equalizers, bushings, and air ride components. Worn suspension causes tire wear, tracking problems, and additional stress into the frame structure above it.

Range: $400 to $6,500

Collision estimates for insurance claim walk-ins carry no charge. Systems estimates are $150 and diagnostics are $285 per hour, both credited against an authorized repair.

- Uneven or rapid tire wear

- Clunking or knocking from the running gear
- Trailer tracking off to one side

## Suspension wear costs more than the repair

Worn bushings and sagging springs cause tire wear, and tires on a multi-axle trailer are a significant recurring cost. The suspension repair frequently pays for itself in the tires it stops destroying.

Worn running gear also transmits more shock into the frame, which is one of the reasons cracks develop at hanger mounts.

## Questions

**Why is my trailer wearing tires unevenly?**

Most often axle alignment or worn suspension components letting the axle move. Replacing tires without fixing that just buys another set of tires.

**Do you service air ride suspension?**

Yes, including bags, leveling valves, and the associated plumbing.

**Do you do brake work?**

We handle running gear and body. Brake certification work is outside our scope and we will refer that rather than take it on.
