# Inspections, ADAS Scan and Damage Documentation

This category covers documented inspection and calibration work: ADAS scan and recalibration after body repair, pre-purchase body and structural inspection, cosmetic and structural condition reporting, and the damage documentation that supports an insurance claim.

Documentation is the least visible part of a body shop and it is frequently what determines whether a claim gets funded at the right number. An itemized, photographed, measured report leaves very little to argue about.

The other half of this category is calibration. Modern commercial vehicles carry camera and radar based driver assistance, and those systems are referenced to the vehicle body. Move a bumper, replace a windshield, or straighten a frame and the calibration is no longer valid.

Scope note: these are body, structural, and ADAS inspections. We do not perform DOT inspections or issue DOT certification.

## Services in this category

### ADAS Scan and Recalibration
ADAS recalibration restores the aim and reference of camera and radar based driver assistance systems after body repair, glass replacement, or structural work. Without it, lane keeping, collision warning, and adaptive cruise operate against incorrect geometry.
Range: $285 to $1,800

### Pre-Purchase Body and Structural Inspection
A pre-purchase inspection assesses the body and structure of a used commercial vehicle before you buy it: previous repair work, frame integrity, corrosion, water intrusion evidence, and the condition of upfit equipment.
Range: $285 to $800

### Fleet Condition and Appearance Inspection
A fleet condition inspection surveys a group of vehicles and produces a prioritized report of body, paint, and structural findings, so a fleet manager can plan and budget repair work instead of reacting to failures.
Range: $250 to $600

### Insurance Damage Documentation
Insurance documentation produces the photographic and written record a carrier needs to fund a repair correctly: itemized damage, measurement where structural work is involved, repair versus replace justification, and supplement documentation when teardown exposes more.
Range: $250 to $1,200

### Post-Collision Structural Inspection
A post-collision inspection verifies that structural repair has restored the vehicle to specification: measurement against factory geometry, weld and joint inspection, ADAS calibration verification, and a documented sign-off before the vehicle returns to service.
Range: $285 to $1,800

## Questions

**When does ADAS need recalibration?**

After windshield replacement on any vehicle with a windshield-mounted camera, after front or rear body repair where a radar sensor is mounted, after suspension or ride height changes, and after any structural repair that could alter sensor geometry.

**Do you perform DOT inspections?**

No. We do body, structural, and ADAS inspection work. DOT inspection and certification is outside our scope and we will tell you that up front rather than taking the booking.

**What does a pre-purchase inspection cover?**

Body and structural condition: previous repair work, frame and structural integrity, corrosion, water intrusion evidence, panel and paint condition, and equipment condition. It is a body inspection rather than a mechanical one.

**Is the inspection fee credited against a repair?**

The systems estimate fee of $150 and diagnostic time at $285 per hour are both credited against an authorized repair. Collision estimates for insurance claim walk-ins carry no charge.
