# Side and Rear Window Replacement

Window work replaces and reseals side, rear, and cargo area glass, including bonded and gasket-set windows, and installs new windows into panels that were previously blank on conversion vehicles.

Range: $400 to $3,500

Collision estimates for insurance claim walk-ins carry no charge. Systems estimates are $150 and diagnostics are $285 per hour, both credited against an authorized repair.

## Replacement and new installation

Replacing existing glass is straightforward. Cutting a new window into a blank van panel is a fabrication job: the aperture has to be cut accurately, the edge treated against corrosion, and the frame bonded or gasket set so it seals permanently.

Untreated cut edges are a very common source of rust on converted vans, showing up two years later as staining below the window.

- Bonded and gasket-set window replacement
- New aperture cutting and edge treatment
- Frame installation and sealing
- Sliding and fixed window options
- Privacy and tint film application

## Questions

**Can you add windows to a cargo van?**

Yes. The aperture is cut, the edge treated, and the window bonded or gasket set. Edge treatment is the step that determines whether it rusts later.

**Do you apply tint?**

Yes, within California's legal limits for the position on the vehicle.

**Why does my window leak?**

Usually a failed seal or a frame that has loosened. Both are fixable and both are worth addressing quickly since the water goes into the body structure.
