# Wiring and Harness Repair

Harness repair replaces damaged wiring sections, corroded connectors, and chafed looms, and builds new circuits for added equipment. Repairs are made with correct gauge, proper terminals, and protection at every point the harness passes through structure.

Range: $400 to $5,500

Collision estimates for insurance claim walk-ins carry no charge. Systems estimates are $150 and diagnostics are $285 per hour, both credited against an authorized repair.

## Repair properly or repeat it

Most harness failures are at the same places: where the loom passes through a bulkhead, where it flexes near a door or a tilting cab, and at ground points that have corroded.

A twisted-and-taped repair fails again within a year. We replace the damaged section with correct gauge cable, proper crimped and sealed terminals, and protection where it passes through structure.

- Damaged harness section replacement
- Sealed connector and terminal repair
- Ground point cleaning and restoration
- Grommet and loom protection at pass-throughs
- New circuit installation with correct protection
- Circuit documentation for future service

## Questions

**Can you repair a rodent damaged harness?**

Yes, and it is common. We replace damaged sections and protect the routing. Rodent damage often looks worse than it is once the loom is opened up.

**Do you document what you added?**

Yes. Undocumented added circuits are the single biggest cause of difficult diagnostics later, so we leave a record.

**Can you rewire an older fleet vehicle?**

Sectional rewiring, yes. A full rewire is rarely the right economics unless the harness has widespread damage.
