# Structural Welding and Fabrication

Structural welding covers certified repair and fabrication on load-bearing components: frame rails, cross members, mounting brackets, subframes, and equipment mounts. Work is performed in-shop by certified technicians, with joint design and reinforcement matched to the load the component actually carries.

Range: $750 to $20,000 and up

Collision estimates for insurance claim walk-ins carry no charge. Systems estimates are $150 and diagnostics are $285 per hour, both credited against an authorized repair.

## Certified work on load-bearing components

Welding on a structural component is not the same job as welding a bracket. The joint has to carry load in service, under vibration, through temperature cycles, for years. A weld that looks fine and fails in eighteen months is worse than no repair at all because it fails somewhere unexpected.

All structural welding here is performed in-shop by certified technicians, with joint preparation, filler selection, and reinforcement matched to the base material and the actual service load.

## Fabrication for equipment installs

A lot of our welding work is not repair at all. It is building the mount that lets a piece of equipment attach to a chassis it was not originally designed for. Toolboxes, cranes, generators, tanks, racks, and specialty bodies all need mounting that carries the load into the frame correctly.

Getting that wrong is how a frame develops cracks radiating from a mount hole two years later. We design the mount to spread load into the rail rather than concentrating it at a point.

## Questions

**Do you weld on aluminum bodies?**

Yes. Aluminum requires different technique, filler, and heat management than steel, and using steel practice on aluminum warps the panel and produces a weak joint. It is a distinct skill and we treat it as one.

**Can you fabricate a mount for equipment I already own?**

Yes. Bring the equipment and the vehicle and we will design and build the mounting. That is a large share of what our fabrication side does.

**Is welding a cracked frame a permanent fix?**

It can be, when it is done correctly. The crack ends have to be drilled to stop propagation, the joint has to be prepared, and the area usually needs reinforcement. Simply running a bead over the crack will reopen.
