# Cargo Floor Repair and Replacement

Cargo floor work replaces damaged or rotted decking, repairs the crossmembers underneath, and restores the floor-to-wall seal. Floor failure usually starts as water intrusion from a leak elsewhere, so the repair addresses the source as well as the deck.

Range: $500 to $9,500

Collision estimates for insurance claim walk-ins carry no charge. Systems estimates are $150 and diagnostics are $285 per hour, both credited against an authorized repair.

## Symptoms

- Soft or flexing spots underfoot
- Visible rot or delamination in the decking
- Water pooling in the cargo area
- Fasteners pulling loose from the deck

## Find the leak, then fix the floor

A rotted floor is almost never a floor problem originally. Water got in somewhere, ran to the low point, and sat there. Replacing the deck without finding the entry point produces the same failure again.

We trace the source first, which is usually a roof seam, a wall puncture, or a failed door seal, and address it as part of the job.

## Questions

**Can you replace part of the floor?**

Yes, when the rot is localized and the surrounding deck is sound. Sectional replacement is common and far cheaper.

**Should I coat the new floor?**

On a working delivery body it usually pays for itself. A spray-in coating resists abrasion and water and adds grip when the deck is loaded.

**What if the crossmembers are rusted too?**

They get repaired or replaced as part of the job. Laying a new deck on failing crossmembers is a repair with a very short life.
